Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to assess the capacity of the Republic of Macedonia to achieve one its fundamental objectives – EU accession and more specifically, reforming its public administration system. Here, the main focus is on the hypothetical question: Is the Government of the Republic of Macedonia capable in responding to the requirements of the EU in adopting and implementing the principles of the European Administrative Space (EAS)? Given that the concept of the EAS is based on nonbinding principles, it remains a mystery whether the Republic of Macedonia can follow the rules and patterns that have served as a guideline for many other candidate countries in the process of their system transformation and EU accession.
