Summary/Abstract: By virtue of the bull of Pope Paul VI Episcoporum Poloniae coetus on June 28, 1972, the Koszalin-Kolobrzeg (Kołobrzeg) Diocese was erected, with its subsequent continuations in 1992 and 2004, changing its borders. After the erection of the diocese in 1972, it was necessary to establish organizational and legal structures for its proper functioning, including the episcopal curia as an auxiliary organ, the Priestly Council, the Pastoral Council and the Bishop’s Court. In addition to these institutions and organs, the spiritual and social life of the diocese began to develop through the creation of many Catholic organizations and associations promoting Christian ideas and introducing the faithful to the orthodox teaching of the Church in accordance with the provisions of the Second Vatican Council, on greater involvement of lay Catholics in the activities of the Church. In order to promote these ideas in the spirit of Deo et Patrie, the Society of Friends of the Catholic University of Lublin was established in 1984 and operated until 2011. Its activity prospered in the first years with the desired result. The Society developed rapidly, gained new members and supporters very quickly, promoted the Catholic University of Lublin, and it was at the initiative of its president for all years, G. Cwojdzińska, who sent letters, appeals for cooperation to parish priests, personally delivered lectures during the so-called “district meetings”, i.e. conferences for the clergy organized at that time in three diocese regions: Koszalin, Slupsk (Słupsk) and Szczecinek in the spring of 1985. In the first years of its operation, members of TP KUL in Koszalin regularly took part in various celebrations and events related to the life of the diocese. In the discussed period, the branch also undertook some own activities, which were expressed by organizing the Diocesan Meeting of Parish Liaisons of TP KUL – twice a year. The first took place in the spring of 1986 and since then they have become a traditional, very important form of communication, various cooperation forms, exchange of views and experiences between: the management of the branch and liaison, liaison between each other and indirectly between the branch and the clergy. A very important task undertaken at the meeting of the branch board on July 12, 1993 was the establishment of the Koszalin-Kolobrzeg (Kołobrzeg) Diocese of the Catholic University of Lublin Alumni Association, following the example of those already existing in Warsaw and Pulawy (Puławy). 1994 was the 10th anniversary of the society’s Koszalin branch. On this occasion, a ceremonial Diocesan Meeting of Parish Liaisons was organized on November 27, 1994 in Koszalin, combined with the naming of the branch after the patron saint of St. Ignacy Loyola and the blessing of a commemorative plaque with a relief of the patron’s head made by the Koszalin sculptor Zygmunt Wujek. Among other important tasks and activities undertaken by the Koszalin branch of TP KUL, there were departures meetings of branch members in individual parishes in the diocese. The issues of KUL, TP KUL and their role in promoting pro-Christian ideas and attitudes were discussed there. Such meetings took place in 1986–2007, incl. in Darlowo (Darłowo), Jezierzyce, Leba (Łeba), Polanow (Polanów), Malechowo and Szczecinek.
