Summary/Abstract: The article is a presentation of a preaching text from the archives of the Skrzatusz parish in German, with a translation into Polish, probably from the 19th century. An archival manuscript is more of a sermon or a preaching sketch than a homily to the gospel according to St. Luke (Lk 8:4–15), Sexagesima Sunday (“Sixty-ninth” – according to the calendar before the 1970 liturgical reform). The subject of the sermon is the sin of defamation (slander) and absolution from it. The rocky ground in the parable of the sower is the soul of the slanderer, often unable to repair the harm done by defamation of others. The text of the manuscript with a strong didactic, moralizing, more catechetical than kerygmatic accent, is a call to conversion from the sin of slander.
