Summary/Abstract: The interwar period might be considered a period of spectacular modernization in Romanian society. The country’s development in multiple domains was emphasized in order to place the country within the larger family of European nations. It took Romania many years so that, in 1938–1939, it could be considered as a country who took decisive steps in the process of industrialization. Neoliberalism was supposed to be the economic doctrine meant to give a momentum to the capitalist society which was affected by the consequences of WWI to a great extent. In Romania, the neoliberalism will become the governmental politics for a scientifically based evolution. Mitiţă Constantinescu, economist and leading political figure, is one of the prominent and ardent supporters of neoliberalism.
