Summary/Abstract: In Japan, people traditionally celebrate the beauty of autumn. The celebration is called Momidzis. Another autumn festival is Shichi-gosan. The title translates as seven-five-three; the seven, five and three-year-old children, clad in natty kimonos, are taken to a temple and introduced to the national deities. The best places to experience the spirit of Japan are the gardens of the country. Landscape objects, such as rocks, plants, trees and ponds are regarded as the habitats of spirits. In the autumn the gardens get coloured with a variety of coloration and are especially beautiful. On December 20th, 1922, Japan de jure recognized the Republic of Lithuania. On September 6th, 1991, Japan recognized the restored Republic of Lithuania and established the diplomatic relations between the two countries on October 10th, 1991. In Lithuania, the Embassy of Japan was opened on November 25th, 1998. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of those events, two art exhibitions – "Autumn in Japan“ and "Japanese paper jewels“ – were organized in Klaipėda on September 15th, 2021. These were located at the „Gallery 1252“ which belongs to Klaipėda St. Francis of Assisi monastery of the St. Casimir province of the Order of Friars Minor of Lithuania.
