Summary/Abstract: Civil Association “Friends of Bulgarian High School “Hristo Botev” was founded 14 years ago (2002) with the aim to support and educate the Bulgarian youth in Slovakia, as well as to contribute to the prosperity of the Bulgarian school in Bratislava. During all these years, a plenty of educational and cultural integration projects have been developed, a lot of works by the children have been published, but one of the most significant projects was the establishment of the first Bulgarian kindergarten where Bulgarian and Slovak children, as well as children from other communities living in Bratislava come together. In 2015, the Association launched projects aimed at developing the subject of multiculturalism, projects that bring together minorities officially recognized in Slovakia, among them the Bulgarian minority. The first project was about sport, and it was called “Play Sport with a Smile”. In 2016, we plan to organize creative workshops for children of Bulgarian, Hungarian and German origin alongside kids from Slovakia. Our goal would be that each of the groups presents customs related to the traditions in the different countries. The title of this project is “Ways towards/of Friendship”. The Association is in close cooperation with official authorities such as the Bulgarian Cultural Institute, the Bulgarian Embassy, associations and organizations of Bulgarians living in Europe.
