Summary/Abstract: The monograph presents an analysis of a central fragment of the Bulgarian picture of the world, in which the concepts MAN, WOMAN, CHILD, FAMILY; HOME and HOUSE, VILLAGE and CITY, ROAD; BEAUTY, STUPIDITY are connected in an associative-verbal network, at the center of which is the person. A comparison has been made with some Slavic languages (mainly with Russian and Polish), which makes it possible to clarify the linguistic and ethno-specific nature of the mentioned concepts in the Bulgarian language. Illustrative material includes dictionary interpretations, proverbs and sayings, phraseology, associations, comparisons with foreign languages.
