Summary/Abstract: In the short story collection, The Cinnamon Shops, written by the Polish author Bruno Schulz, the usual order of things – sometimes imperceptibly, sometimes obviously – is replaced by another order, belonging to the realm of imagination. The purpose of this article is not to show what is reality and what is fantasy in this literary world, but rather to follow the alternation and interlacing of these two orders—reality and fantasy—while also emphasizing the specificities of this intricate composition’s execution.
