Summary/Abstract: Although phrasemes comprise a group of multi-word lexical units, nearly 50 years ago it was postulated that one-word phrases (such as compounds) should alsobe included, which continues to be a subject of dispute in phraseology. In German, suchone-word phrases are referred to as Einwortphraseme or Einwortidiome, the termsbeing used synonymously. This paper points to the heterogeneity of the group of one-word phrases, which results from the fact that not only idioms are the basis for theirformation, but so are collocations and other non-idiomatic phrases. This paper proposesa broader approach to the concept of Einwortphraseme, identifies new one-word phrases, not described thus far, and suggests their new classification.
