Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses some of the specific features of Gabrovian and Shop humor as a form of conceptualization of the world. Gabrovian humor is monotopical - Gabrovians laugh at their exaggerated thriftiness and craftiness, while Shops laugh at themselves, at the other and at the world. The fuzzy boundaries of the joke and the anecdote text are also commented on. In the English tradition, in contrast to the Bulgarian one, a prototypical joke and an anecdote text are kept distinct.
