Summary/Abstract: Nicu N. Iorga, son of Nicu (Neculai) C. and Zulnia Iorga, was born in Botoşani on June 5/17, 1871 in the “houses of Cuza” on Copoului Street, to the Suliţa barrier at the exit to Suliţa – Ştefăneşti from locality. The parents (the father who died prematurely on March 28, 1876) and the two children, Nicu (Nicolai) and Ghiorghi (Gheorghe), lived for rent in (at least) ten different houses in Botoşani, between 1871 and 1886, during the Botoşani stage of the life of the great historian. Thus, Botoşani Town with the houses where he was a continuous tenant, especially the house of Marghioala Vâzdogeasa on Liceum Street, became the ground / point “0” of the horizon in the continuous and complex extension of the child, adolescent and adult N. Iorga. With an impressive educational and informational background formed in his family, supervised by his demanding mother, Zulnia, the child Nicu (Nicolai, Necolae) N. Iorga was enrolled in the first grade of no. 1 “Marchian Folescu” Primary School for boys from Botoşani, in April 1878 and graduated in June the same year; in the second grade in the school year 1878-1879; in the third grade in 1879-1880 when he received the first prize with an average of 8.94; he graduated the 4th grade in 1880- 1881 with an average of 8.85 thus receiving the first prize. The educational route of Nicu Iorga continued as a first grade pupil in secondary school between 1881 and 1882, at the High School from Botoşani, and he graduated with the first prize; then he also graduated with the first prize the second grade (1882-1883), the third grade (1883-1884), and the fourth (1884-1885). The secondary grades I-IV from 1881 to 1885 were attended and completed in the halls of Bolfosu House, an Armenian building built between 1790 and 1810. In 1885-1886, the student N. Iorga attended the fifth secondary grade in the new building of the High School, called later “Laurian”, inaugurated in the autumn of 1885. But he had a disciplinary conflict with the teacher Victor Fleury and was suspended from school for 15 days. The incident strongly marked and determined the high school student N. Iorga to leave “Laurian” High School and the town of Botoşani and to enrol at the National High School in Iaşi, in August 1886. Thus, the Botoşani stage of primary (grades I-IV) and secondary (grades I-V) education of the brilliant student N. Iorga ended.
