Summary/Abstract: The current evolution of the Romanian education system, together with the emphasis on the digitization process of the instructional-educational and evaluative tools, have arisen a demand to rethink the classical assessment and a reorientation towards standardized evaluation. Thereby, the BRIO standardized testing platform meets these needs by introducing in the evaluation methodology of History a new form of assessment through objective items. By building a database of items associated with each content in each curriculum for 5 to 12 grades, this standardized assessment method offers the capability to generate individualized tests for every participant, with more than three type of objective items, balanced as percentage, so as each test generated is unique, but maintain the same difficulty between all the tests displayed for all candidates who have the same age or who are in the same class. Therefore, this paper gives an account of the methodology used to elaborate the item database and how the tests are generated, alongside with a detailed description of items typology and a brief example of the scholar, psychological, and neuropsychological approaches behind them.
