Summary/Abstract: The present paper is going to examine Hungary’s ethnic Bulgarian community from the respect of the contemporary ethnic processes in the last 25-30 years. The Bulgarian community is not compact and it is not numerous. The base process is the natural assimilation and the demographic changes. Following the enactment of the 1993 law on ethnic minorities, research on ethnic identity became more active; during the last ten years appear new organizations and arises the process of dessimilation too. The good Bulgarian language knowledge is the most important factor of the national identity. The Hungarian customs, language, habbits are dominated, this process is stronger after 2011, when the Bulgarian Secondary School was closed and after that the Bulgarian Ortodox Chirch has not permanent activity.
