Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article is the philosophy of history presented in the Chronicle of Arbela, a work representing the oriental branch of Syrian Christianity. According to the author of the article, particular attention should be paid to the attitude of historian (or historians) to the Sassanid dynasty. According to the vision presented in the chronicle, Christians who were persecuted by the Parthians, under the rule of the first representatives of the Sasana family achieved relative peace in professing their faith. Moreover, it is thanks to Hormizd and his invasion of the Roman Empire and the defeats inflicted to the Romans, as if in defense of persecuted Christians, that Constantine converted to the faith of Christ. This is a surprising Eastern perspective worth discussing and debating.
