Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the most important social efforts pursuing constructing health-care system in the Kingdom of Poland at the turn of 19th and 20th century. It pictures the development of the health-care system’s social institutions – hospitals, clinics, dispensaries, nursing homes and sanatoriums, medical organizations for the infectious prevention etc. They signified a lot for the improvement the general health of the society. Also, the social care was provided by those institutions. What cannot be omitted is their importance in the field of health education. The activities regarding the medical care and health education were of a great value for popularization the modern medical and hygienic knowledge. They helped health-promoting lifestyle’s popularization along. The microhistorical perspective, among others, was applied in the article.
