Summary/Abstract: This study deals with forest management on the Schwarzenberg estates of Třeboň and Hluboká nad Vltavou in the years 1661-1782. After obtaining both estates, Johann Adolf von Schwarzenberg issued a basic document in the form of a set of instructions from the prince for his staff of forestry workers. This regulation established the principles of forest management on both of the Schwarzenberg estates. The princes of Schwarzenberg were very conscientious in forestry matters, being aware of the importance of wood for their estates. Representation of genera and entertainment in the form of hunting were regulated by the economic aspects of forest management. In this study, the author mainly deals with the relationship of man to nature and the composition of the forest by species. In addition, she does not neglect to mention timber harvesting and related sales of this commodity. Thefts of wood, which also occurred frequently on the mentioned estates, were connected with forest management in negative terms. They are therefore included in the present study.
