Summary/Abstract: RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of the article is to show the legitimacy of actions enabling conscious preparation for fulfilling the role of a father. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The article aims to answer the question about the reasons why it is worth striving for the preparation of future fathers for the tasks that they face up. The literature on the subject will be used to solve the problem, analyzed by the analytical – synthetic method. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: Based on the most important aspects of spirituality, both the tasks resulting from being a father and the directions of undertaken educational initiatives were discussed, as well. RESEARCH RESULTS: Being a father is associated not only with biological but also spiritual (internal) fatherhood. This demands initiatives that make it easier for the child to discover that he/she is loved. This feeling is fostered by respect for the subjectivity of not only the father, but also the child. Here, it is about experiencing a freedom that the child is not able to use it yet. The father, aware of these limitations of the child, accompanies him/her in reaching maturity. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: The presented process of argumentation seems to confirm the legitimacy of making adults aware of the need to shape personal father–child relationships.
