Summary/Abstract: This article sums up and presents in chronological order the successive stages in the endeavours of the inhabitants of Spycimierz parish and Uniejów municipality to have Flower carpets tradition for Corpus Christi processions. entered on the UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The success of these efforts would not have been possible without active engagement of the local community and close cooperation with Uniejów municipality authorities. It can provide an inspiration for other municipalities to take actions aimed at safeguarding of unique cultural heritage.
