Summary/Abstract: A brilliant text by St Maximus the Confessor could be an antidote to fragmentation and the contorted relationality induced by digital media in family life and society: “Do not use ideas wrongly so that you may not be forced to also wrongly use things. For if a person does not initially sin in mind, he / she would not either sin in deed [....] Sin is the wrong use of ideas, which is followed by the wrong use of things”.
