Summary/Abstract: The PhD thesis deals with a possible way of survival of the marginal rural areas with valuable cultural heritage – in our case, the Szekler area, which isn’t part of any major development pole’s influence. In these less developed areas with no economic growth perspective, one can observe the migration of the population and the abandoned houses that deteriorate quickly. As such, a tenable growth of the area or a non-growth (”degrowth”/”decroissance”) cannot be considered – yet one can hope for a manageable constrain. From this point of view, the situation is even sadder and hopeless.
