Summary/Abstract: The article offers an analysis of Demon (2015) – a film by Marcin Wrona – from the comparative perspective of studies on Polish co-responsibility for crimes against Jews during and after WWII. Wrona’s film is placed in context of Polish documentaries addressing that issue: Birthplace (1992) by Paweł Łoziński, Where Is My Elder Son Cain? (1999) and Neighbors (2001) by Agnieszka Arnold, as well as feature films: Aftermath (2012) by Władysław Pasikowski and Ida (2013) by Paweł Pawlikowski, but above all – the most discussed and well-known drama text about the Jedwabne pogrom: Our Class (2014) by Tadeusz Słobodzianek. All these works are compared in terms of the narration, construction of the diegesis, and their political, historiosophical, psychological and moral reception.
