Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the work of filmmaker Jaime Rosales. His subsequent films have undergone a significant formal evolution. But in that case, we are dealing neither with the pursuit of novelty and experimentation characteristic of modernist art, nor with approaches typical of neomodernist cinema. The basic principles that govern the development of form in Rosales’ cinema are innovation and transposition. These categories allow to grasp not so much constant progress or the permutation of formal procedures, characteristic of parametric narration, as the artist’s way of seeing the function of film form. The cinema of the Catalan author is also inscribed in the framework of perturbatory narration, as the form leads to a distortion of the narrative process.
