Summary/Abstract: Vladimir Levchev’s dissertation examines documentary sources and real information about the history of Freemasonry in the British Empire and the United States during XVI–XIX c. Bulgaria lacks such research based on documents found in libraries and museums of the United Kingdom and the United States. This allows the author to outline the real historical facts, myths, falsifications, and historical processes in Europe and in the “overseas territories” of the British Empire that led to the creation of the United States. Levchev reveals the philosophy of Freemasonry in its synthesis with the ideas of the Enlightenment and the esoteric. The review indicates the contributions of the work.
