Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to understand the role and meaning of the Christmas and Easter themes found in the stories of the Russian first wave émigré writer Nadezhda Gorodetskaya (1901-1985). The analysis shows that Gorodetskaya’s prose testifies to the fact that, thanks to the “inscribing” of the fate of the most ordinary of people in the context of biblical history, they become “justified” by their involvement in this same history.
