Summary/Abstract: Since the collapse of communism, the history of expulsions in Europe has been attracting increased public attention again. Numerous publications, international symposia and conferences have been dedicated to this topic, and it is possible to observe a growing need among the population for information about, and the reappraisal of, the history of expulsions in Europe. This is true not just in Germany, but also in other European states, especially in East-Central and Eastern Europe.
