Summary/Abstract: In the archive of the Leningrad section of the History Institute to the Academy of Sciences of USSR there is the fund of family Vorontzovi. There, there are interesting documents about the history of Bulga¬ria. They are “Notes about the Russian war with the Porte” including the period from March 1806 to March 1811, and a “Brief description of the military actions in 1810”. The supposed author of the two documents is Duke Michail S. Vorontzov. In both of them the accent is on the military actions between Russia and Turkey, but there are episodes about the Bulgaria in them. In the “Notes” there are data about the events in Kurdzhali at that time, and about Sofroni Vrachanski and his organization and the participation of Bulgarians in the actions against the Turks. Territories and part of the Bulgarian boundaries are defined fully impartially, because at that time Bulgaria is not in the plans of Russia yet. The used data from the two documents show the attitude of the Bulgarians towards the Russian-Turkish wars in the beginning of the 19th c., and also reveals the Russian plans towards the Balkan countries: support is given to the liberation movements of Serbs and Greeks, but there are not yet concrete plans for Bulgaria in the wars of 1806–1812 and 1828–1829.
