Summary/Abstract: This article addresses the problem of female otherness in Maeterlinck’s early plays, through the concepts of Strangeness and Strangerness. An interdisciplinary reading, at the crossroads of literature and psychoanalysis, reveals the connection between the phenomena of the Strange with the Stranger and the Known. The Feminin as Other raises the questions of the crisis of the subject fin-de-siècle, as well as Death as the theatrical character, influencing the space of dialogue.
