Summary/Abstract: In his Essai sur l’origine des connaissances humaines (1746) the eighteenth century French philosopher Condillac considered that the arbitrary signs of language are the prerequisite for thought. Later, in his Cours d’études (1767) he claimed that natural languages such as french are adequate methods to analyze thought. At the end, in his Logique (1780) he claimed that sciences are well-made languages, and that these languages are to be built on artificial signs.
