Summary/Abstract: The »Gajret« Society - one of the most developed Moslem cultural and educational organisations of a secular nature - was founded in 1903, at the end of the twenty years long regime of B. Kalay, at the time when the other leading societies of the kind were also established in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process which aimed to make national movements institutional. Having been active for almost four decades from the time of its foundation, the »Gajret« undertook successfully its mission in culture and education, and even more, which enabled it to play an eminent role in the general development of the Moslem community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The »Gajret« Society - one of the most developed Moslem cultural and educational organisations of a secular nature - was founded in 1903, at the end of the twenty years long regime of B.
