Summary/Abstract: The author aims at not only reviewing the scientific research works dealing with the 1882 insurrection but also filling the gaps evident in them. For the latter purpose he relies on some until-now unknown documents from the Archives of the Russia’s Foreign Policy in Moskow, as well as from some Austro-Hungarian archives. In this paper special attention is paid to the attempts at beginning an uprising in the years between 1878 and 1882 and the political ideas behind them.
