Summary/Abstract: God created man in his own image, calling him to the likeness of Himself by participating in uncreated divine grace. Through the incarnation of Christ, man has the possibility of deification through a synergistic work between God and man. The divine logos or the image of the Father preserves its unaltered divinity through the incarnation. The author shows that Christ retains his immutability through the incarnation because we are talking about one hypostasis of divinity and two united but unmixed natures. Any mixture of nature would have led to an addition to the deity and would have become changeable. By the fact that Christ is unchangeable is meant that all who live a life in Christ share in this divine attribute by grace. Man remains changeable because he is created but by grace he becomes worthy of divine qualities. The changing man shows his distance from God.
