Summary/Abstract: The second part of the research will seek to illustrate howYahweh, the representative of Jewish monotheism, will confront, through the ten plagues, not only the Egyptian people, but especiallyhis gods, true ancient oriental models of polytheism. Progressingfrom the first to the last of the ten plagues, the method of describingthis confrontation can be likened to a battle match in which, thoughalone, Yahweh is the One who gains victory after victory over theEgyptian gods who are shown to be powerless to respond to Himaccordingly. It will thus be noticed, during the research, that Yahwehnever fights, by means of the ten plagues, with only one Egyptiangod, as in a match of equals, but He will face at least two Egyptiangods at once, sometimes even to several. Confrontation can be seen, from this point of view, as a victory of monotheism (qualitative) overpolytheism (quantitative).
