Summary/Abstract: In the light of the communio ecclesiology, the Church appears as a “community of interpersonal relationships” that should be shaped according to the example of Jesus Christ, who communicates God’s redemption in them, that is, liberation from evil, sin and eternal death. The Church, as a servant of redemption, has the task of communicating to people the truth about God’s anticipatory love not only in words, but also in pastoral relationships, thus assuming a redemptive character. According to the teaching of Pope Francis, pastoral workers should meet people wounded by sin with love, tenderness and compassion. He calls upon believers in Christ to fulfill the ministry of accompanying others on the way to the fullness of Christian life in the love and truth of the Gospel. By leading their neighbors to an ever closer union with God, pastors should initiate them into the life of the Church and put into practice the teaching of Christ ever more fully. In this way, people find a climate for themselves that serves their spiritual development and supports the use of their freedom for the multiplication of good in the world.
