Summary/Abstract: The article offers a cognitive reading of the parts of speech in view of their categorical nature. The immutable parts are considered, ie. their unstable morphology as a categorical characteristic as a prerequisite for ambivalence, which dissolves into syntax. A relevant criterion for the syntactic behavior of this ambivalence is cognitive potency.
