Summary/Abstract: The article studies utterances expressing unreal condition and/or consequence in Modern English, argued to be a special type of complex sentences – Unreal Condition-Consequence Periods (UCCP). Conditional and consequential parts are compulsory. The type of syntactic connection between two compulsory parts is defined as interdependencе.
