Proposal of an approach to the analysis of literary (poetic) texts from the point of view of linguistic stylistics

Summary/Abstract: Starting from the assumption that literary texts are adequate, and even representative material for analysis from the point of view of linguistic stylistics, this article aims to reach a double objective: a) propose an approach to literary texts from the point of view of linguistic stylistics, which is exemplified by the formal, descriptive analysis of the means of expression used in a poem by a portuguese poet Jorge de Sena, focusing general stylistic characteristics of the stylemes, as well as their functioning in the context of literary discourse; b) explore the specific problems of the analysis of artistic discourse by linguistic methodology.
