Summary/Abstract: The article is a written form of a lecture given at Linguistic Circle in Zagreb with a purpose to give an overview of the CHILDES system and its implementation on the Croatian corpus of child language. The second part of the article is an example of the analyses that are faciliated with the programs included in CHILDES. Diminutives are a prominent feature of the child language in Croatian and their acquisition is presented. A brief discussion of the role of diminutives in the acquisition of Croatian morphology is given at the end of the article.
