Summary/Abstract: Unlike the Bulgarian state the standards for educational content in the USA are regulated differently. After the established inefficiency, they undergo many and various changes, with the main emphasis on the standards for natural sciences, which are literally being re-created. Their goals are to eliminate the ignorance about science, create common standards for teaching in the United States, and develop greater interest in science among students so that more of them choose higher education in science and technology. The article examines examples of the standards used in the United States for teaching science, in particular - biology for general education in middle and high school, which are taught today. The described examples are an excerpt from the new standards for the different fields of biology for two middle high school classes – 5th and 7th and one total for high school – IX – XII grade.
