A Bridge To the Nothing

Author(s): László Kolozsvári Papp
Subject(s): Literary Texts
Published by: Kortárs Folyóirat Kiadói Kft.
Keywords: political writings; post communist attitudes; absurdities of Hungarian elections

Summary/Abstract: This is the 25th - closing - piece of a series of ironical, topical, political writings from the Transsylvanian author who settled down in Hungary 20 years ago. The writer does not want to seem objective, he is clearly against any kind of post-communist attitudes or mentality. His strong opinions devide our readers into two groups, who either greatly like or dislike his series. However it's without doubt that most people begin with his article when they start reading Kortárs, since he is able to remain witty and reserved even when very critical. In this last episode Kolozsvári Papp is looking at the ways how Jean-Paul Sartre kept changing his ideological views as well as at the absurdities of the Hungarian elections.
