Summary/Abstract: In the Arad area, after the establishment of the Orthodox Preparatory High School (1812), the first senior being the priest Dimitrie Țichindeal, in 1822 the Clerical School was established, for two years, with teachers Gherasim Raț and Gavril Guliani. The school had a seminary rank, receiving graduates from trivial school or high school. At the same time, he was established at the Orthodox Clerical Schools in Timișoara and Vârșeț, where he taught the future Metropolitan of Transylvania, Andrei Șaguna. Only in 1785, the priesthood can acquire higher education, at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology from the University of Chernivtsi (now in Ukraine) and the Faculty of Orthodox Theology from Vârșeț.
