Summary/Abstract: This article focuses on the issues raised by the digital in relation to identity. Starting from the genetics of the concept and its avatars, we propose to determine the communication issues at the level of social networks, while determining the presence of the most used hashtags on the networks. Through various disciplinary borrowings: through its polysemy, its practices and its uses, digital identity conceals many issues that we propose to associate both at the intimate and microsocial level as well as at the political and societal level. From the “birth” of the digital identity (back to basics), through avatars of the digital identity, digital seems to stay for” being present in a world of absence”. Our case study refers to the construction of a digital identity through hashtags because in the digital era, we can say that “I click on the hashtag, therefore I read”. Furthermore, we investigate the functions of the #hashtag, and make a list of lockdown and hashtags on TikTok, in order to demonstrate the changings and the communicational issues in digital era.
