Summary/Abstract: Although the audience and persuasion remained common places for the old and the new rhetoric, the challenges in the era of mass communication are more complex and led us to a program of neo-rhetoric studies. This paper aims to highlight some of the features of the new rhetoric in the era of mass communication and the challenges it must adapt and prove its effectiveness. We will, firstly, foray into the old precepts of rhetoric to prove that many concerns of the field have remained essentially the same, only the context and media is changing. Going on the line of comparison between the old and the new rhetoric is inevitable the linking of rhetoric to argumentation studies and to main analytical discursive tools they built.
