Summary/Abstract: In June 2022, an indigenous uprising led by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities of Ecuador, CONAIE and his allies FEINE and FENOCIN, took place in Ecuador, which lasted 18 days and finally managed to get the government of Guillermo Lasso to sign an agreement in which it commits to reduce the fuel prices, repeal executive decrees related to extractivism and start a dialogue process to solve social and economic problems of the most impoverished sectors. To understand this uprising, three basic axes are analyzed: (1) the IMF's austerity program; (2) the community subject and its institutions as the organizational support of the uprising; and, (3) the dispute over the signifiers and the appearance of community digital media and social media influencers from the indigenous world who played an important role in the mobilization.
