This article describes types of wastes generated in oil industry, highlight main risks and important aspects of waste management planning and reverse logistics. A survey of scientific publications was conducted in the paper to deepen the knowledge in the topic, become familiar with the phenomenon, illustrate it and suggest possible solutions which will be useful for researchers and practitioners and will create a chance to conduct further research.
