Summary/Abstract: The fountain is a construction of public utility, characteristic of the mountainous and hilly area of Oltenia, which by its simplicity and efficiency represents an ingenious system for capturing water from surface springs. The wayside crucifix had the role of completing the whole, constituting the part of sacredness. The study of such an ensemble contributes to the documentation of some traditional work techniques, being at the same time a unique opportunity to repertoire this typology of wells from the north of Oltenia. Beyond documentation and repertoire, the authors of this study aim to actively intervene in the evolution of this unique construction.
