Summary/Abstract: Although tourism has led to the spread of the pandemic, it is a service sector that has been negatively affected by the pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the tourism sector hardest due to travel restrictions. Unprecedented travel restrictions and curfews, both within and between countries, have caused the biggest fluctuations in the global economy to date. The main purpose of the study is to identify the social problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic in the tourism industry. During the pandemic, the method of analysis and synthesis was used to identify social problems in the tourism industry. The method of comparative analysis and survey was also used. Current pandemic conditions and the lack of a long-term database on the topic are the main limitations of the study. As a result of the research, the social problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic in the tourism industry were identified and ways to overcome them were proposed. The main scientific innovation of the research is the development of solutions to minimize the impact of pandemic conditions, which do not have a positive impact on tourism.
