Summary/Abstract: The Upper-Silesian Agglomeration is the largest urban complex in Poland. Since 1945 successive spatial development plans have been developed for it, in which many conceptions have been proposed to solve various issues pertaining to regional planning. Some of them have been implemented, some have been suspended and others – abandoned. The article presents several of the conceptions and projects, which – difficult as they were to implement at the time of their creation – after many years have become attractive again in the current socioeconomic situation and considered feasible to realize.
