Summary/Abstract: In a literary world torn by the historical changes caused by wars, in an intellectual environment that oscillates between the rural thematic and the urban problems, one of the most refined prose writers follows the path of the Proustian psychology. Innovative spirit, formed by the French and Russian school, preserver of the Bulgarian patriotism of the Renaissance, Konstantin Konstantinov is one of the notable authors of the inter-war period, admired by some and disputed by others. Fascinated by the profound spaces of the inner self, by the place in which opposites attract, Konstantin chooses a new path, which reveals, in time, the extent of his talent. Writing prose is for him, regardless if we are talking about stories, travelling journals, memorialistic prose, essays or novels, a complex process of understanding and getting in touch with the human psychology. Talented writer of the unknown depths of the human soul, he follows the lead initiated by Marcel Proust, Leo Tolstoi, Max Blecher or Camil Petrescu.
