The 80th anniversary of the birth of Professor Wiesław Puś, the founder of the periodical “Studies in Socio-Economic History of the 19th and 20th Centuries”

Summary/Abstract: In 2020, an outstanding expert in the economic history of the partition era, prof. dr hab. Wiesław Puś is 80 years old. Due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, it was not until June 2021 that the Professor’s ceremonial jubilee was organized. The ceremony, organized by students and employees from the Department of Polish History of the 19th century and the authorities of the Faculty of Philosophy and History at the University of Łódź, gathered numerous guests, including the current and former rector authorities of the university. From a group of friends, colleagues and students, the Professor was presented with a commemorative book, entitled Nie zamyka się w „skorupie” uczonego. Studia i szkice ofiarowane Profesorowi Wiesławowi Pusiowi w osiemdziesiątą rocznicę urodzin (He does not lock himself in a scientist’s „shell”. Studies and sketches donated to Professor Wiesław Puś on the eighty anniversary of his birth), published by the University of Lodz Publishing House, and prepared under the scientific supervision of prof. Jarosław Kita. The text is a report on this nice celebration.
