Summary/Abstract: The ideas of political division in post-war Germany showed the new type of war, waged in the world which allowed the victors to maintain the leadership over the conquered territories. The three great powers - the USSR, the USA, Great Britain - developed their plans and ideas for the separation of the unified German state, logically proceeding from their interests, which were further influenced by the war and the sharpening of Allies’ relations in regard to the postwar system. The main purpose of this article is to present the various interests, plans and ways of overcoming the conflicts during the negotiations for the resolution of the German question and the main diplomatic means to prevent the growing danger of the escalating tensions between the Allies after the war.
